Cruising down Biscayne Blvd. Hey Freedom Tower : ) |
Sunshine. Sangria. Salsa. Miami has all of that and so much more. When I think of Miami so many words come to mind. Overall, it is an eclectic, exciting and ever-changing city. I love Miami! Whether you are from out of town or a local South Floridian this list features bars and lounges that are sure to please. Each place is unique and shines in its own light. Alright, so here they are in no particular order. Enjoy!
1. Lagniappe (Edgewater/Wynwood)
This place I checked out just randomly and it is a gem. From the outside it is completely unassuming, but once you enter it wraps you in its arms and is quite charming. The owners describe Lagniappe as a "New-Orleans style Wine House." They have a wonderful selection of wines, cheeses and charcuterie. Combine that with the fact that they have live music every night and I am sold.

2. Blackbird Ordinary (Brickell)
They host different bands and DJs from all over. I mean they even had ?uestlove! They offer great music, a unique drink menu, indoor and outdoor space all in a very relaxed environment. Did I mention there is no cover charge?

3. Wood Tavern (Wynwood)
Seriously, the ultimate hipster chill spot. Indoor and outdoor bar; this place is unpretentious and artsy. Last time I went with friends, I ended up playing Super Mario. Oh and the music is hot!

4. Clevelander (South Beach)
The Clevelander is located right on Ocean Drive and is always a good time. It has a HUGE outdoor space with music from morning till night. They serve food and they have a large menu of drinks and ting. This place stays packed all year round.

5. The Broken Shaker (Miami Beach)
This watering hole is simply one of a kind. It is a beautiful outdoor late night spot on Miami Beach. They recently added an upstairs indoor bar on the property. It is located at the Freehand Miami which is an upscale hostel. The cocktails they make are unique and fresh. They have their own herb garden and have fruit trees on the premises. Definitely, worth visiting.

I watched Anthony Bourdain's episode of Miami and was disappointed overall in its coverage but it's still worth watching. He reminded me of what a jewel Yardbird is.
